Notice of Meeting to Adjourn Board of Review to a Later Date

The City of Colby Board of Review will meet on the 20th day of May, 2024 at 4:00 PM in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 211 W Spence Street, Colby, WI for the purpose of calling the City of Colby Board of Review into session during the 45 day period beginning on the 4th Monday of April, pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes §70.47(1).

Due to the fact the Assessment Roll is not completed at this time, it is anticipated that the Board of Review will be adjourned to 5th day of September, 2024 at 4:00 PM.

Pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes §70.45, the Assessment Roll for the Year 2024 assessment will be opened for examination on the 26th day of August, 2024 from 1 PM to 4 PM, 27th day of August, 2024 from 2 PM to 5 PM, 28th day of August, 2024 from 9 AM to noon at Colby City Hall, 211 W Spence Street.

Instructional material about the assessment and Board of Review procedures will be available at that time for information on how to file an objection and the Board of Review procedures under Wisconsin law.

Hydrant Flushing

City of Colby

Notice of Flushing Hydrants

The Colby Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants April 29th to May 3rd between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Colby residents should be aware that during this period, the water in certain areas of the city may be discolored or cloudy. This is due to sediment breaking free during the flushing period that was not entirely cleared out. The colored water does not pose a health hazard, but may cause staining to laundry. If residents have any questions, please contact the Colby Water Department at 223-6615 or the Colby Clerk’s Office at 223-4435.

The City of Colby has four parcels of land ranging from 6.44 acres to 12.73 acres ready for delelopment located off of Highway 13 and near Highway 29. These parcels are zoned commercial and would be ideal for either commercial or residentail development. Price is negotiable depending on improvement value and employment opportunities.
